J.A. Steel & Son Enfield

I used J.A Steel & Son in July 2022 and they have took my items over £5000 and damag some furniture in total of over £3000 and as I could not supply purchase received they insurance paid me £850 .00 and they delete my full feedback which I have put on they website, don't use this company as they really dont care and they will take good items if they can. They should have camera on removal people which they can monitor what they do to items and furnitures.this is truly feedback which I have wrote.

Move size: 2 Bedroom Home Service cost: £1250

Carried out a removal for a very ill relative. The removal men, whilst friendly and laying out the boxes in a nice way at the new property, made disparaging comments at the time, saying the stuff was "all rubbish" (we didnt take notice at the time). We naively had labelled all the boxes with their contents. Upon unpacking, turns out that the removal men had taken many of the valuable items, some of them precious family possessions, which then made sense as regards to their comments, and kept many of the boxes in their van, probably to sell on. Contacted the company to investigate - incredibly rude response back. Reported to the police and trading standards. Incredibly upsetting experience all round. Would definitely not recommend to use - so angry I never reviews of any company, but if there is one positive from this experience, take the bad experience we had

Move size: 2 Bedroom Home Service cost: £800

We moved from Barnet to Ladysmith Road in Enfield with this company. They helped us a lot offering storage while our builders where adding finishing touches to our new place. This took much longer that we have expected and I had to change my delivery date twice but that was also  easy and hassle free. With a quote we've received list of packing materials and we had these delivered prior removal for the price you wouldn't get in local stores. We have used some boxes with rails to hang all clothes from our 2 large wardrobes. Both teams we had were great, on delivery date they couldn't park in front of the house and poor guys had to walk short distance to unload the van.  I was so stressed about the whole removal thing but it went easier that expected, will always recommend Steels to my friends and family.

Service cost: £900

Do not use this removal firm - totally unprofessional. They made a local two bed flat move last all day even though I paid extra for 3 men on the job. They refused to move the piano and sofa into the new flat citing that they would not go up the steps and I had to pay for someone else to do this, clearly they did go upstairs. They also failed to invoice me and immediately debited my account leaving me in arrears. I will be writing to the ombudsman as I would not wish anyone else to have such a bad experience. I have nothing good to say.

Service cost: £750

As per title - what more could you ask for from a removal company. Very friendly when dealing on the phone and the men did a great job on the day!! I had an expensive cabinet that I was worried about but it got to my new home unscathed.
The removal men arrived at 8.00 as arranged and had the van loaded within a few hours. There was a bit of a delay at the other side with the handing over of the keys, but the men didn't mind waiting - great service - thoroughly recommend.

Service cost: £700

I would not use this company again if they did it for free. Quick enough to take your money though (you have to pay a week before the move).
Did not call the day before to let me know what time they were coming.
Wrapped parcel tape around my washing machine waste pipe.
Scratches (quite a few) on my dining table.
Completed a survey and referred to scratches but no-one bothered to call.
Sent email with complaints but did not receive a response.  Eventually had to chase again.

Service cost: £762

I used J.A Steel & Son after receiving a few quotes from other BAR registered companies. I went with J.A Steel & Son as they offered the exact same service for a reasonable price. I had regular contact with them prior to moving day, they answered all of my queries promptly and kept their word throughout the process. We had our moving day on a Saturday and the job was completed within 4 hours of arrival (that's including delivery at other side) and everything arrived in one piece (no scratches either). The team handling our move were brilliant! Would recommend them to anyone!
